M13 - GREAT GLOBULAR IN HERCULES
This cluster, containing 500,000 stars, is just visible to the naked eye.  The top image is a color composite taken 6/18/04 stack of 5 each LRGB at 30 sec each (L at 15 sec each) at f/3.3.

The bottom image is the exact same field of view intentionally "overexposed" to show the true extent of this mighty globular and its half-million stars.  Stack of 30-second exposures, clear filter only.
